Onward to Victory!

The story of Victory Brewing Company dates back to 1973 when Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski forged a lifelong friendship in 5th grade, an enduring bond that persisted even when they pursued their college education on opposite coasts.

Post-college, Bill's appreciation for good beer blossomed, thanks to access to his dad's home brewing equipment. Recognizing the perfect gift for Ron, he initiated a friendly rivalry that fueled their shared passion for craft beer. Competitiveness and a love for brewing led the duo to abandon corporate jobs and join forces to elevate their brewing skills.

Ron began his brewing journey at Baltimore Brewing Company, later attending a Technical University in Germany. During Ron's absence, Bill stepped in as the brewer at BBC. Both decided to pursue brewing education in Germany, with Ron working at Old Dominion Brewing Co. upon his return.

Founders of Victory, Ron Barchet & Bill Covaleski

Pooling their knowledge and experience, Ron and Bill fulfilled their dream of opening Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, PA, on February 15, 1996. The success of Victory Brewing Company led to the establishment of two additional locations in Pennsylvania.

In July of this past summer, Christian, his friend Zach, and I visited Victory, opting for the Kennett Square location. The brewery, situated just outside Kennett Square, sported a factory-like exterior and ample parking. Upon entering, a spacious room showcased merchandise and refrigerated beers for purchase.

Choosing to sit at the expansive bar, they indulged in a flight from the impressive selection of 24 beers on tap, focusing on five different sours: Sour Monkey, Limey Gose, KSQ Mojito, Pulp Fiction, and Pink Monkey. Seeking guidance for the final selection, their beertender suggested a blend of Sour Monkey and Kirsch Gose, known as Pink Monkey.

Outside of Victory

The experience was enhanced by the exclusivity of Pink Monkey, available only at the brewery. To prolong the enjoyment, Christian and I opted for a crowler to take home. Summing up the experience at Victory Brewing Co., it was deemed awesome, prompting plans for a return trip the following weekend. A hearty recommendation was extended to anyone in the area to check out this exceptional brewery.

Beer flight at Victory

Overall, my experience at Victory Brewing Co. was awesome and Christian and I are planning our next trip back for next weekend! I highly recommend checking them out if you're ever in the area!

That being said, here is my rating: Atmosphere - ★★★★ - The atmosphere at Victory was nice. We went on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly it wasn't crowded. There weren't too many people in the brewery so we were able to converse with the beertender and enjoy our surroundings.

Beer - ★★★★★ - It's extremely difficult for me to get a flight at a brewery and like every single beer I ordered. It's also very hard for me to go to a brewery and get an all sour flight -- because most places don't produce that many sours.

Employees - ★★★★ - The beertenders were nice and friendly and checked up on us frequently.

Location - ★★★★ - The location for Victory was fitting, it's in the outskirts of downtown Kennett Square and offered plenty of parking.

Social Media - ★★★★★ - Victory does a fantastic job monitoring their social media platforms. Each site is tailored for their specific audience and there are not many duplicate posts throughout the platforms

Total: 4.4 STARS! Cheers!!
